WORDS/
JULIA BOSSKI PRZYBORA
It’s been a week full of surprises and nerves, diverse emotions: both joy and disappointment. Our first cover campaign, that I posted a few days ago, started to be mocked on instagram.
It was also banned from facebook, then [they] republished it (see the post from 2.03.2021 on my wall ], but my account was blocked and I couldn’t use Facebook for 3 days- as a punishment for absolutely nothing.
Our posts from BOSSQUE MAGAZINE were reported and deleted all over again, even though there was nothing uncensorable on them.
The title on the poster says: OŚWIECENIE– which in polish means ENLIGHTENMENT.
All these events gave me loads of stress and somehow sadness (i’m still not used to hatred nor aggression- i guess i’ll never be].
It also showed me how BLIND our society is- I don’t know whether it’s only Poland or elsewhere too- probably it’s everywhere similar in some circles, but here..I really started to believe that enlightenment is still far away.
Nevertheless, I don’t doubt , I’m permanently being enlightened by the great power of solidarity and love that I received from friends and Bossque supporters.
I know that we are starting a new era, and we are stronger than ever. And no censorship will stop us.
I checked how to say ZAŚLEPIENIE IN ENGLISH – and blindness is the one we mean, but another word for it is INFATUATION – which means PASSION or even being “IN LOVE”.
That opens a tunnel of other phenomena that we want to point out, like “passionate censorship”- I wrote about it a short text in polish on the website (CENZURATOR ONANISTA), INFATUATION MEANS BEING BLIND IN LOVE WITH AN IDEA/ IDEOLOGY, which at the moment is a big problem, actually it causes the whole conflict within our country. The infatuation.
This poster is our riposte to the haters- with great sense of humor, we show how it would look like if all our pictures would be subjected to censorship.
